As cool, fall weather sneaks in..

One of my favorite things to do in Seattle is to curl up with a great read. I'm pretty excited to check out The Autobiography of Mark Twain, Volume 1, which is being released this November. Mark Twain requested on his death bed that the three volume autobiography was not to be printed for 100 years.. 100 years! Historians are divided about why Twain wanted to wait so long, but there is speculation that he either wanted to talk freely about religion and politics, or that he just didn't want to worry about offending any friends! Either way, there is something so romantic about a memoir being unsealed and released from such an iconic literary figure..

If you frequent our Capitol Hill store, you may have noticed that the ladies of Edie's love a little Stevie Wonder! You can bet that we will be dancing our butts off at this event! The Fourth Annual Wonderlove, an ALL STEVIE tribute night held by Seattle DJ's Riz Rollins and Same DNA. A Fashion Show of Support

Thursday September 30th 2010 6-8pm join us at Shadowland for the kick off of A Fashion Show of Support.
A night of fall fashion, raffles, music, sips and treats. The after party from 8-10pm will keep the fun going at Clementine featuring Coastal, Sweetie featuring Edie’s and Carmilia’s.

Raffles and a percentage of sales that night will benefit the Gulf Restoration Network. Here is a little more about what they do.

Gulf Restoration Network (GRN)
GRN has mobilized all available resources to monitor and respond to BP's oil drilling disaster and is calling on BP and the federal government to clean up this oil disaster and make coastal communities whole again.
GRN is a 16-year old environmental advocacy non-profit that works to unite and empower people to protect and restore the natural resources of the Gulf of Mexico region for future generations. GRN plays a pivotal role in coordinating strategic collaborations across the Gulf, providing their members with technical assistance, and running effective campaigns to successful address environmental threats in Gulf communities.
